Mentoring service is so popular

The Perthshire Chamber mentoring service is proving extremely popular at the moment.

This programme caters for businesses of any size, of any sector at any stage and for members and non-members.

It is not a surprise that people are looking for additional support during such turbulent times and when they are having to look at how and what they do and exploring alternative ways of working.

A business mentor offers a valuable sounding-board and is someone who is not part of the business. They are experts in business, but you are the expert in your business, and the conversations which take place within this confidential and trusted relationship can be hugely beneficial.

Mentoring can be for those newly in business but also for seasoned business people moving into unchartered territory (for them) and this is happening in abundance at the moment.

The relationship can be beneficial for both parties. Our mentees value and appreciate the support, but our mentors learn about other businesses which they may not be familiar with and this develops them too.

In many cases this builds strong working relationships which continue over many years in an informal capacity or blossom into friendships.

By sharing the entrepreneurial experiences, this service gives the business the confidence to develop and grow, and offers access to a great network of contacts that can open doors and inspire new thinking. It is new and innovative thinking that will be critical to many businesses as we all look at an unfamiliar future.
