Trust building on Saints’ success with social events

-

St Johnstone’s profile in Scottish football has soared in recent months.

The cup double success and subsequent European games are undoubtedly up there with the highest points in the history of the club.

Long-standing Saints supporters over the years have experienced many ups and downs, but still talk fondly about their special team, recalling memories of matches, players, managers, club characters and a lot more besides.

The St Johnstone Community Trust wish to build on Saints’success and offer supporters the opportunity to meet socially on a regular basis to learn more about the club, its history and to bring back some of the highlights from the past.

With a proposal now detailed on their website, the community trust’s Saints Times Past group could feature appearances from explayers, coaches and managers.

There may also be showings of video footage from games of earlier eras, opportunities to tell Saints stories and quiz ball challenges with similar groups from other clubs.

To measure the extent of interest in setting up Saints Time Past, The St Johnstone Community Trust is now inviting fans to get in touch to submit an expression of interest.

The group is open to Saints supporters, players and officials who would enjoy sharing memories of the club through the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.

Everybody who expresses an interest will be invited to complete a short survey. Committee members are also being sought.

To get in touch, email admin@ saintsinthecommunity.co.uk or contact Atholl Henderson on 07751178154.

Alternatively, the online survey can be found via the trust’s website www.saintsinthecommmunity. co.uk
