Tapedeck 45 ready to hit the big time
The Perth and Dundee-based indie rock band Tapedeck 45 has signed a five-year contract with Heartstopper Records to create a debut album.
Tapedeck 45 has been a regular fixture on the Perth performance circuits for years, since founders Samuel Stewart and Andrew Laurie first came together to make music at university, finding strong success with their debut single ‘Johnny, How Could You’.
Since then, the band has grown to include Jordan Cruickshank, Andrew Burns and Tyler Moore, and the fivesome are now ready to take the first steps in shifting their music from an entertaining hobby to a potential career.
The band’s most recent single, ‘Lost’ has reached thousands of plays across the internet and beyond, and the band are hoping to take that success to the next level with their debut album, currently being recorded.
Working with Mark Tindal of Open Eyes Productions to create an exciting, exhilarating experience uniquely their own, the band is aiming to release the 10-track album in October-November 2021, building towards a potential nationwide tour in 2022.
The acquisition of Tapedeck 45 represents the newest, most active addition to Heartstopper Records’ roster.
Director of Heartstopper Records, Huw Siddle said: “Tapedeck 45 bring an incredible mix of classic indie stylings and complex musical composition to the table, all coloured with a drop of their unique sense of humour.
“We’re absolutely delighted to be helping the boys bring themselves to the world’s attention, and with them every step of the way onwards.”
