Trial for stabbing accused

-

A 31-year-old woman accused of repeatedly stabbing another woman at an address in Perth is to stand trial later this month.

Jodie Marie Case denies striking Laura MacLaren with a sharp or bladed object to her severe injury and permanent disfigurement and impairment at a property in the city’s Dunsinane Drive on April 20, 2019.

Case, who according to court papers is currently having her mail sent to an address in Brahan Terrace, also denies assaulting a second woman, said to be her ex-partner, by striking her on the body at the same address on the same date.

She further denies shouting, swearing, throwing items and behaving in an aggressive manner, particularly towards her expartner, at the same address between August 20, 2018 and April 20, 2019.

Her trial is set to begin on October 25 at Perth Sheriff Court.

Her old ballet teacher, Julie Young posted congratulations to Holly for her running achievement in London.

“We are all so proud of you Holly,” wrote Julie.

Holly finished the 2021 London Marathon in five hours and 12 minutes.

She had to wait two years to do it since first finding out she had a place.

Last October, with the pandemic keeping runners away, Holly put on her running shoes and clocked up the equivalent miles around Perth completing the ‘virtual London Marathon’.

On her 2021 fundraising page Holly explained: “I’m raising funds for an incredibly important charity who support young people like Lily living with cancer, and their families.

“Thank you all so much for your donations - it means the world to me and the charity.”

In 2017, Lily Douglas was just nine years old when she was diagnosed with stage four Ewing’s Sarcoma - a rare form of childhood cancer.

Holly said: “Despite countless operations and different treatments, she shows incredible bravery, positivity and determination every day. Lily doesn’t allow anything to hold her back - truly showing
