St John’s Kirk in Perth will be the setting for a thrilling interpretation of The Phantom of the Opera, the macabre silent film that sparked the musical.

Tonight, Friday October 29, award-winning musicians Aaron Hawthorne - performing on the church’s 1926 pipe organ - and soprano Rosie Lavery will present a semi-improvised musical accompaniment to the 1925 silent horror film, The Phantom of the Opera.

The dynamic Glasgow-based duo promise“an unparalleled world of hair-raising live music and the dark twists of a film which had 1920s cinema-goers screaming and running out of auditoriums.”

While Rosie’s singing provides crucial vocal lines to compliment the film’s operatic themes, Aaron hopes that this UK tour will introduce a new audience to organ music.

The show will be coming to St John’s Kirk where doors will open at 7pm and the music begins at 7.30pm.
