ABERUTHVEN SUMMER FETE

Aberuthven Primary School Summer Fete is on Saturday, June 3 from 10am until 12 noon. All money raised to school funds.

Inflatable­s, bric-a-brac, ice cream, tea/ coffee, hook a duck, fire engine, cake and candy stalls all on offer.

CHURCH

Sunday, June 4 at 11am is Communion Service with the Rev Sandy Gunn followed by refreshmen­ts. All welcome. On Tuesday, June 6, from 12 noon until 3pm, there is a Community Cafe.

BANKFOOT CHURCH

The service this week is at 11.15am and will be communion led by Rev Susan Thorburn. Teas, coffees and biscuits will be served after the service.

BRIDGE OF EARN BOWLING CLUB

The friendly with Alloa on Saturday was cancelled due to lack of players from Alloa. Hat night winners were Pete Scott, George Laing, Ann Wills and Alan Mather.

SPRING IN

The ‘Spring In’ Cosy Café is open again today, Friday, June 2, in the Church Hall from 11.30am–1.30pm for coffee/tea, soup and home baking. All will be made welcome.

FORGANDENN­Y IN FLOWER

Forgandenn­y in Flower will be holding their inaugural plant sale and Coffee Morning tomorrow, Saturday, June 3, from 10am–12 noon at the Village Hall.

Entry for the Coffee Morning will be £2. Plant prices displayed on the day. All proceeds replanted in the village.

DUNBARNEY & FORGANDENN­Y CHURCH

Holy Communion will be celebrated this Sunday, June 4 in Dunbarney Church at 10.30am. All welcome. The service is also available on Facebook Live and telephone broadcast (01738 239392).

CHRISTIAN AID APPEAL

Thank you to everyone who donated to this year’s Christian Aid Appeal. Between online giving, donation envelopes, quiz sheets, guess the bunny’s birthday and the quiz night the amazing sum of £739 has been raised.

Christian Aid will be able to claim a further £75 in Gift Aid so the total contributi­on to the appeal from the Kirk is £814. A fantastic sum – thanks for your generosity.

YOUTH DROP IN

The Church and KYTHE (Kinross-shire Youth Enterprise) are holding drop-in sessions on a Wednesday evening for local youth between the ages of 11–14 (P7 – S3).

These evenings are informal, with activities and snacks on offer. Come along to Dunbarney Church Hall on Wednesday, June 7 from 6–8pm. Stay for as long or as little as you like.

BRIDGE OF EARN TENNIS

BURRELTON CHURCH

Morning worship was led by the Rev Ewen Gilchrist with Lynne Mitchell as organist. Praise included ‘O Day of Joy and Wonder’, ‘Holy Spirit, Gift Bestower’ and ‘Great and Deep’.

Sheena Mcnaughton read from the Gospel of John-chapter 16 verses 12-18. Office bearers on duty were David Martin, Sheena Mcnaughton and Iain Stevenson.

Next week’s worship will be led by the Rev Margaret Steele. All are welcome to participat­e in worship at 10am on Sundays.

COLLACE CHURCH

The Annual Stated Meeting of the church takes place on June 11 following morning worship.

Communion Service will be held on June 25, with a retiring collection for Crossreach, the social care arm of the Church of Scotland.

There is a Coffee Morning on Saturday, June 10 from 10am to 12 noon.

The Soup and Sandwich Lunch is on Wednesday, June 28, serving between 12 noon and 1pm. The Huddle is taking a summer break in July and August. All are warmly welcome to attend the church and The Huddle.

DUNNING CHURCH

Dunning Church is on Sunday, June 4 at 11am. Service followed by refreshmen­ts.

In Dunning Church Hall on Sunday, from 2.30-4pm, there will be “Our Space”. It will take the form of a Kintsugi session.

This is the Japanese art of repairing broken porcelain to make it beautiful and repurpose it. People are invited to bring along vases and plates that are dear to them but broken.

Carol Page gave a talk on Numerology at the latest meeting, much to the amusement of the members who struggled to add up.

We all learned how to fold napkins to make roses and lilies which went down as great fun.

The hostesses were Wilma Brown and Heather Walker who produced a tea par excellence. It has been an enjoyable year for everyone to meet up and we all look forward to the next season of the Scottish

Women’s Institute.

GUILDTOWN GUILDTOWN LARDER

Guildtown Larder is a new venture for the village where it helps to support local people and reduce food waste.

The larder is in partnershi­p with Fareshare and local supermarke­ts where food products of fresh and store cupboard is given away free or low cost to the community of Guildtown and St Martins. Registrati­on is £1 for a lifetime membership.
