PADDY AND THE TRAMPOLINE

Taking my seat on the train, I placed my bag on my lap, ready to head off to my job as a handyman. I had sent the kids off to school and left my four-year-old Labrador collie, Paddy, in his kennel in the back garden, like I always did.

Suddenly, Paddy was sat on the seat next to me, wagging his tail excitedly.

He just looked at me as if to say ‘where are you going?’

‘How on earth did you get here?’ I asked, genuinely surprised.

I always left Paddy in his kennel when I left for work.

The garden is surrounded by a 6ft fence, so I couldn’t understand how he’d gotten out.

I had no choice but to take him to work with me. Obviously, he was a new start.

The next day, as I walked home from work, there was Paddy waiting for me at the front door.

‘How on earth did you get out of the garden?’ I said. I was very confused. The mystery was soon solved when my neighbour came over to explain what he had seen.
