Brits spend more than £4 billion a year on pampering their pets – from quality diet food, day-care, and beauty treatments, to exercise regimes, designer outfits and toys – it seems our furry friends are quite high-maintenance. Many people see their pets as members of their family, and involve them in regular activities, such as cat counselling, pet weddings, and social ‘petworking’. Some even splash out on taking their fur-children to ‘pawlates’. The ‘Cat Café’ craze has also reached our shores, with at least nine across the UK – book a session at one in London, Manchester, or Edinburgh to spend some time with some cute kitties.
