Pick Me Up!

I Won £ £2,781!

We knew how we’d spend the money…

- Ashleigh Whitelaw, 29, Livingston

putting my children, then aged 5 and 3, to bed, I quietly tiptoed down the stairs. ‘They’re out for the count,’ I told my partner Paul, 30.

I snuggled up next to him on the sofa. Feeling chilly, I pulled a blanket over me. ‘Is the heating on?’ I said. Paul got up to check. He came back and said the boiler was on the blink and would need fixing.

In the meantime, I put extra blankets over the kids’ beds and turned electric heaters on to keep warm. Next day, I had a day off. The kids were watching TV and playing with toys. So I decided to have a few games of Pick Me Up! Bingo.

I’d joined a few years ago after seeing an advert in the magazine.

The site looked fun, and I wasn’t disappointed – there were so many games to try, I was spoilt for choice.

I liked Sapphire Bingo, a 90-ball bingo game. But Game Show Bingo soon become my favourite, so I decided to play it now.

Buying four tickets for £1, I watched the games play out. And I had a natter in the chat room with other bingo players.

After my first game, I watched as the second game started.

My numbers were automatically dabbed off.

‘I only need one!’ I called out to Paul.

Then, everything seemed to happen so quickly…

Winner! flashed up on screen.

‘I’ve won!’ I cried. ‘Did I just hear you right?’ Paul asked.

I nodded, smiling all over my face, and unable to hide my excitement.

Paul pulled me in for a hug.

‘This is amazing!’ he laughed. ‘How much have you won?’ I checked my account balance, but I couldn’t be sure. I already had a few hundred quid in my account from a couple of wins that I’d had over the last few months. Now my balance was over £2,000.

‘I must’ve won at least £2,000!’ I gasped, feeling absolutely over the moon. Days later, it was confirmed when I received a giant cheque in the post.

And there written clearly in black and white was my jackpot win…

£2,781!

‘I can’t believe it,’ I cried, feeling delighted.

My bingo win had come

THIS BIG WIN CAME AS A REAL SURPRISE

so unexpectedly.

‘If you can win, then there’s nothing stopping me,’ my mum Ann laughed, joining the site herself.

When I told my friends, they were just as surprised.

‘You’re proof that anyone can be a winner,’ one said, joining the site, too.

When Paul and I sat down together later to discuss what to spend the money on, we were both in total agreement.

‘Let’s get a new boiler,’ we decided.

So we had a fantastic, brand-new one installed.

Then we bought the kids a few new toys each and put what was left over into our savings account.

I still can’t believe I won so much money.

Being a jackpot winner feels fabulous!

And I really can’t thank Pick Me Up! Bingo enough.
