Pick Me Up!

B.I.G. Day

Word up! Sophie’s fiance was being real shady during their wedding…

- Sophie Evens, 30, Barcelona

Dancing along, I knew I’d made the right choice. Craving change, in December 2011, I’d moved to Sydney from London to work at a videoproduction company.

Now, I was out clubbing in Australia!

My flatmate Leann brought her friend Kit, then 32.

The first thing I noticed was he loved singing.

First great friends, after a year we started dating.

Kit was known for breaking into song, but I didn’t realise how much he loved rapping until we moved in together.

Whether it was in the shower, cleaning the toilet or cooking, he’d rap away!

In November 2013,

Kit proposed and we threw ourselves into making wedding plans.

We decided to get married in Cornwall, as I have a lot of family there.

In July last year, the big day arrived. Kit was so nervous he could hardly eat.

He must be worried about his speech, I thought. Then...

‘Can all the bridesmaids come with me?’ he announced. What’s going on?

They returned moments later – and Kit started rapping! He’d rewritten the words to Juicy by The Notorious B.I.G. The bridesmaids sang the chorus.

Everyone was shocked, but jumped up and danced. Kit didn’t miss a beat, until…

Time to get laid, go get ourselves a baby made. So cheeky!

Then Kit’s mum Faith started whooping.

‘I want grandchildren!’ she shouted.

At the end, Kit took a bow. It topped off a perfect day. Living in Barcelona since April this year, we’re still so happy. That’s a rap!
