Pick Me Up!

Bingo winners

As I nattered away with my pals, I just couldn’t stop giggling away with them.

Has anyone been watching Eastenders? someone asked, as we began chatting about the latest storyline. I loved catching up with my friends.

And even though I hadn’t actually met any of them, we had such a laugh together.

Making friends

See, we’d got chatting in the chat rooms of my favourite bingo site – Pick Me Up! Bingo.

I’d joined the site 10 years ago after seeing an advert for it online.

It looked like a lot of fun. I never expected to make so many friends, though. But everyone in the site chat rooms was so friendly.

We were always having a laugh and chatting about all sorts of things.

Sometimes I got so carried away gossiping, I forgot all about my games.

The roomies, as they’re fondly known were a lovely bunch.

Over the years I had a few small wins here and there on the site.

For me, it was all about having fun, though. And I loved how sociable the site was.

My favourite games are Double Bubble Jackpot – a slot game – and Tiki Bingo.

Funny thing is, I’d never really played bingo before I joined the site.

It just hadn’t appealed to me.

But there are so many games to choose from, I was spoilt for choice.

And what was great was that I could play a few demo games to see what games I liked.

Buying ahead

In July this year, I bought a few pre-buy tickets for Tiki Bingo.

It meant the games would play out and I could go off and run some errands.

I visited my mum for a cup of tea and did a bit of shopping before coming home.

It was a long day so when I got in, I forgot all about my bingo games.

I pottered about the house, made some tea, then went to bed.

It wasn’t until a day or so

I joined the site 10 years ago – it’s a lot of fun

later that I logged back into my account. And my account balance showed a £1,000!

Where’s that come from? I thought.

It definitely hadn’t been there before.

Suddenly I realised I’d won the jackpot with one of my pre-buy tickets.

I’d managed to scoop a whopping grand! Incredible!

I was home alone, so I did a silly dance around the kitchen to celebrate.

‘I’m a winner!’ I beamed, absolutely thrilled.

I had the biggest smile on my face as I phoned my mum.

I’m a winner

‘I’ve won on the bingo!’ I said.

‘ That’s good,’ she replied, thinking it was just a few quid.

She had no idea that I was a big jackpot winner.

‘I’ve won a thousand pounds!’ I laughed delightedly. She was speechless. When my husband Phil, 57, got home I told him the good news, too. ‘Guess how much I’ve won?’ I chuckled, Before telling him I’d scooped the jackpot. ‘That’s made my day,’ he smiled, I’m chuffed to bits. We decided to spend the money on a family trip. My daughter, 22, had moved to Lynmouth and we were long overdue a visit.

‘Let’s spend the weekend with her,’ I suggested.

I couldn’t wait to see her. So I paid for me, Phil and our son, 24, to go to stay in Lynmouth for the weekend.

We stayed in a hotel and spent the weekend together as a family.

We enjoyed nice lunches and meals out and I also treated the kids to a few bits and pieces.

Happy memories

We had such a lovely time with them.

And I really can’t thank Pick Me Up! Bingo enough for making it all possible.

Creating special memories with my family really was priceless to me.
