Pick Me Up!

Not so fun…

QI’ve just moved in with two best mates and after years of getting on brilliantly, we’re constantly arguing. I’m worried we’ve ruined our friendship, but we have a year’s contract, so I can’t move out.

ALiving with friends can be a tricky business and something that really needs to be nipped in the bud before you fall out and things can’t be repaired. Very often when you live with someone new, be that a friend or a partner, you don’t see what you are getting yourself into, and it’s only when you are under the same roof most of the time that the warts and all signs come out.

It sounds basic, but why not have dinner together and work out some simple house rules so that things are set out clearly? Maybe make a list of who does which jobs, be that putting out the recycling and cleaning the kitchen, or you could decide to have a cleaner once a week with a kitty that covers that as well as household essentials like bread and milk.

Who gets the parking space and when the rent is paid can all be sticking points, but open communication often works best and will save your friendship.
