QI seem to sweat a lot even when it’s not that warm. Is that normal? Sam, Cheltenham
AExcessive sweating is also known as hyperhidrosis in medical terms and can affect the palms, soles, under arm skin, face and scalp, or a combination of these.
Excessive sweating can have no medical reason for it or could be the result of an underlying medical condition, such as overactive thyroid gland, anxiety, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis or Parkinson’s disease.
Firstly, see your GP as they may have some recommendations or suggest some tests.
Privately you can look into having Botox.
Injections use botulinum toxin to block the nerve signals responsible for sweating, and help stop the sweat glands from producing too much sweat.
