Pick Me Up!

PRIMEPRIME SUSPECT

Have you had an Amazon delivery? Jasmine Paget, 18, from Swansea, needs to know!

When it comes to true love, I believe that when the right person comes along, you just know.

That’s how I felt when I first met Josh Mannings on a dating app in January.

Kind, funny and caring, Josh, 20, swept me off my feet, and after a few dates, we were a couple.

And even better, we happened to work at the same place – the Amazon warehouse in Swansea!

Spending all our time together, Josh and I were head over heels.

And on Valentine’s Day, he had a surprise for me...

Out for a romantic meal, all of a sudden, Josh dropped down to one knee.

‘Jasmine, will you marry me?’ he asked, presenting me with a stunning diamond ring. ‘Of course I will!’ I cried. We’d only been together for a month, but I knew Josh was the one for me.

And besides, the ring he’d bought was enough to make any girl say yes!

A large diamond attached to a silver band adorned with smaller diamonds – it was absolutely gorgeous. Even four months later, I couldn’t stop admiring it!

On 6 June, I was working a shift at the warehouse, packing hundreds of packages people had ordered online to be shipped out. It was a busy day, and by 5.50pm, I was exhausted.

Just then, looking down at my hand, my heart dropped. My ring was gone! Dropping to my hands and knees, I scoured the floor around where I’d been standing, looking for the glimmer of a diamond – but there was nothing.

‘Where could it have got to?’ I cried in a panic, frantically searching around my work station.

The ring was on my finger earlier – where did it go?!

Then, a sinking feeling settled in my chest as I

Where could it have got to?!

realised what must have happened to it...

The ring must have fallen into one of the packages!

I packaged around 160 parcels an hour – it could be on its way to anywhere!

The idea of my beloved engagement ring being shipped off to anywhere from Blackpool to Brighton was too much to bear, so I raced to my manager. ‘My ring is in one of the packages!’ I cried. ‘You’ve got to be kidding me!’ he replied. Thankfully, he agreed to help, even went as far as stopping the lorries that were about to head out, collecting all the boxes I’d packaged, and running them through a scanner to look for my diamond ring. By 11pm, though, nothing was found.

‘It’s probably in one of the Prime packages,’ I sobbed. Amazon Prime packages always took priority – were shipped out as soon as they’d been sealed.

My ring was on its way to God knows where, and I had no way of finding it. My manager kindly sent an email to all our customers we’d shipped out to that day, but after that, there was nothing else anyone could do. Back home, I was so upset. ‘What’s happened babe?’ Josh asked.

‘I’ve lost the ring,’ I stammered. ‘I’m so sorry.’

As I recounted the traumatic ordeal, I expected Josh to be cross with me – after all, a diamond ring couldn’t have come cheap!

But when I finally got to the end of my tragic tale, Josh burst out laughing! ‘What are you like!’ he said, taking me in for a hug. ‘You’re not mad?’ I asked. ‘No, don’t worry about it,’ he smiled. ‘It’ll turn up.’

That night, I wrote an appeal on Facebook, asking for anyone who’d ordered something from Amazon to check their parcels.

My post has been shared over 16,000 times, but no one has found my ring.

Any parcels that were sent out that day would have been delivered by now, so if anyone has found an engagement ring that they don’t remember ordering, please let me know! I know it’s a long shot – my ring could be anywhere from Leeds to Leicester, or Newcastle to Nottingham.

But finding it would make me the luckiest girl in the world.

My fingers are crossed! If you’ve found Jasmine’s ring in one of your Amazon parcels, email jasminepaget2001@ hotmail.co.uk.
