HARRIET’S TOP TIPS:

-

1. #ONETASKADAY

My main tip is to focus on achieving at least one task a day to keep the housework at bay! The task can be as big or as little as you like. As long as you get that one task done, you know you’ve achieved something and been productive.

On the days I don’t feel motivated, this is a great starting point and usually kick starts me to do more. You can set yourself a different task each day and just do as you please. This method is particularly helpful for those with physical or mental illness, who may be unable to do too much at once and may find a ‘To Do List’ a little overwhelming or unachievable.

2. DITCH THE TRADITIONAL DISH SPONGE

Another one of my top tips is to invest in longerlasting products! I swear by Teal Trunk which is a silicone scrubber – I nickname it Terry. Silicone is bacteria, mould and odour resistant. It doesn’t wear or need replacing as frequently as standard cleaning sponges. I love this scrubber for washing the dishes, but it’s also very versatile and can be used for a range of tasks around the home.

3. INVEST IN A SPH2ONGE

Every household needs a SPH2ONGE! These super absorbent products are a game changer, especially with two toddlers. I waste far less kitchen roll, as I can just grab this instead which is re-usable and machine washable! It absorbs spills, is fabulous for damp-dusting, leaves a streak free shine across mirrored and glass surfaces, and is no-drip!

4. KEEP YOUR OLD TOOTHBRUSHES

Old toothbrushes, especially children’s ones, are the perfect cleaning tool!

I save so many toothbrushes and use them to scrub various nooks and crannies around the home. From around the taps to the washing machine drawer, they’re so handy to have and you can even colour code brushes to different tasks and areas.

5. CLEANING FAKE FLOWERS AND ROSE BOXES

The easiest method I’ve found to clean fake flowers and rose boxes, is to use a small cleaning brush and individually brush the flowers. This gives them a deep clean and is gentle enough to not cause any damage. There are some fabulous cleaning brushes out there. I get mine from The Dustpan and Brush Store.

I think the main thing to remember is to have fun. Cleaning can be enjoyable and doesn’t have to be a chore.

All product recommendations are easy to find via my social media and I have discount codes available there, too!

Including space saving ideas such as my #Hazhoodyhack, which is the method I use to fold my Hoodies to save space!
