Grant helps charity to offer more support

-

FUNDING for a charity’s Covid-19 response efforts will mean further support for vulnerable or shielding people in the community.

Community First has received £86,000 from the National Lottery Community Fund, meaning they can now offer transport to medical appointments for those who are vulnerable or shielding.

The charity’s fully accessible minibuses have enough space to transport a passenger at a time while distancing from the driver.

This funding also enables Community First to recruit three short-term wellbeing workers to support their efforts in Fareham, Havant, and the New Forest. The charity is continuing to work with district and borough councils to support residents with shopping and prescription collection.

Anyone in need of practical or emotional support should contact the Coronavirus Hampshire Helpline, Hantshelp4vulnerable, on 0333 370 4000, who will connect you to volunteer support in your area.
