Supermarket’s efforts awarded
Appreciation shown for store’s staff working hard throughout the pandemic
KEY workers serving customers in a supermarket throughout the pandemic have been recognised by a community group’s award.
Havant Lions have presented a certificate of appreciation to Havant’s Solent Road Tesco Extra, to recognise the efforts of everyone there to support local people during lockdown.
Lions clubs throughout the country are currently presenting certificates of appreciation to recognise organisations and individuals who have gone to exceptional lengths to support their communities during Covid-19.
Havant
Lions felt that it was important to recognise the efforts made by supermarket employees in incredibly difficult circumstances.
Ian Ranscombe, president of Havant Lions, said: ‘Several of our club members shop at this branch of Tesco so we saw first hand the
efforts staff here made during the lockdown.
‘Everyone really went the extra mile to support the local community.’
In addition, Ian presented a second award to Liz Jones to recognise her work as the store’s community champion.
Ian added: ‘We have worked with Liz and Tesco for several years
and they have really helped us to support the local community.’
Havant Lions plan to present more certificates in the near future and would be interested in hearing from anyone who would like to recommend other people or organisations.
