The men Moneys have got to watch

- Sport@thenews.co.uk

Moneyfields are aiming to reach the FA Cup third qualifying round for only the second time in their history.

But they have an ultra-tough test tomorrow at Dover Road against a Cray Wanderers side who have not lost an Isthmian Premier League game since Boxing Day 2019.

The Bromley-based were undefeated in their final 13 games of 2019/20, lying second behind Worthing when the season was abruptly ended.

That was their first ever season at step 3 after winning the Isthmian South East title in 2018/19 - the season they dumped Moneys out of the FA Trophy in a replay.

Wanderers have won their opening three league games of the new season.

They hammered Kingstonian 5-1 in their first game before winning 3-1 at East Thurrock and 3-1 at Folkestone Invicta on Tuesday.

Striker Joe Taylor struck his 50th Cray goal in only his 63rd appearance at Folkestone.

He was the leading scorer in the Isthmian Premier last season with 26 and already has five in his first three league games in 2020/21.

Also on target at Folkestone was Rhys Murrell-Williamson, who last season was playing in the National League South for Braintree.

He had previously been named in the NL South team of the year for 2017/18 during his time at St Albans.

Winger Jason Banton is another Moneyfields need to keep a close eye on.

Once on Arsenal and Liverpool’s books as a teenager, the former England under-17 international played in the EFL for Plymouth and MK Dons.

In his first season at Cray, he netted twice in their 3-1 FA Cup first qualifying round win over Fisher Athletic.

Moneyfields’ previously reached the third qualifying round in 2018/19, when they lost 3-2 at home to Isthmian Premier outfit Worthing.
