A ROUND-UP of some of the recent cases before Portsmouth magistrate­s.

■ Mark Henning, 55, of

Fratton Way, Southsea, admitted being drunk and disorderly in Guildhall Walk on March 16.

Magistrate­s imposed a 12-month conditiona­l discharge with £21 surcharge and £85 costs.

■ Morgan Martin, 18, of Hispano Avenue, Whiteley, admitted failing to give a specimen of blood on March 14 in Portsmouth. Magistrate­s imposed 12-month community order with a tagged curfew between 8pm and 6am. He must complete 60 hours’ unpaid work and was banned for 29 months. He must pay a £90 surcharge and £85 costs.

■ Brandon Broad, 22, of Victoria Road South, Southsea, admitted drink-driving in Court Lane on November 3. A test showed he had 77 microgramm­es of alcohol in 100 millilitre­s of breath. The legal limit is 35. He also admitted assault by beating. He must complete 10 days’ rehabilita­tion activities in a nine-month community order. He was fined £400 for the driving and banned for three years. He must pay a £90 surcharge and £85 costs. Broad was fined £200 for assaulting the woman.

■ Connor Efford, 24, of Almondsbur­y Road, Paulsgrove, admitted assault in Hillsley Road on September 6 and damaging the same victim’s windscreen. He was jailed for 14 days due to his previous conviction­s.

■ Kirsty Horsted, 27, of St George’s Walk, Waterloovi­lle, admitted assaulting an emergency worker, a PCSO, by beating on February 27 in Waterloovi­lle. Magistrate­s imposed a six-month conditiona­l discharge. She must pay £50 compensati­on and £150 prosecutio­n costs.

■ David Howes, 56, of Allcot Road, Copnor, admitted driving a Ford Transit while banned in Anglesea Road on March 7. He admitted driving without an MoT. He was fined £200 with a £32 surcharge and £85 costs to pay. Magistrate­s imposed six points on his licence.

■ Michael Harding, 34, of Chidham Close, Havant, admitted harassment of a woman between June 10 and 14. He made numerous unwanted calls to her — threatenin­g her and giving abuse. Magistrate­s imposed an eight-week jail term suspended for a year. He must complete 25 days’ rehabilita­tion activities and 60 hours’ unpaid work. A restrainin­g order bans him from contacting the victim for two years. He must pay a £128 surcharge and £85 costs. He admitted breaching a 20-week suspended sentence for assault by beating and common assault.

This has now been extended from 12 months to two years.
