Donald Trump has zero empathy for his people
Idon’t talk about politics very often in this column, but I don’t feel I have a choice this week but to talk about the ridiculousness, mindnumbingly stupid, senseless idiocy of the President of the United States, Donald Trump. Quite frankly even putting his name together with his title is just weird; he used to be the equivalent of Alan Sugar in the States, fronting the reality show The Apprentice and now he’s the leader of one of the most influential countries on the planet and it frightens me to death.
Did anyone else watch any of the presidential debates this week?

Baldwin and Jim Carey of the debate?
It’s far better than the actual debate and showed about the same levels of humour.
I’ve never watched a debate more childish and more unfounded than the actual presidential debate itself. Donald Trump and Joe Biden both showed themselves up as incapable of having an actual grown-up conversation and it’s far more informative to watch the Baldwin and Carey sketch.
Putting that aside (which is hard for me to do because I want to rant, but I won’t) how on earth can Donald genuinely think it’s okay when he himself has tested positive for Covid-19, to only spend three days in hospital, do a drive by so his ‘fans’ can wave to him? Let alone potentially infect the people in his car who quite frankly would have no choice but to do as he says.
Then to stand out on the balcony at the White House and rip off his mask like he’s on a TV show (the world is his stage after all and the man is nothing if not an entertainer) and go into the White House where some 500 staff work. I mean, seriously? Am I missing something here?
And to top the situation off, Trump then goes on to announce to the world that contracting the virus was a ‘blessing from God’. He may as well have gone and spat on the graves of the million people around the world who have died from this awful virus.
It is absolutely disgusting behaviour demonstrated by someone who should categorically not hold the kind of power that could devastate the world if he’s re-elected.
