Moneys boss demanding more of the same

-

Dave Carter is demanding more of the same from Moneyfields as they entertain Paulton Rovers in Southern League Division One South action at Dover Road (3pm).

Moneyfields put their first points on the board in midweek with a thumping

5-1 win at Thatcham Town.

Carter wants his side to take the confidence shown in that game into a tough encounter against their fifthplaced visitors.

'We knew we had been playing well but had failed to convert it into points,' said Carter. 'I have told the players they need to continue showing the same quality, fight and hunger that earned us our first win.

'With home advantage we have to aim for another three points.

'A lot of it is about taking your chances and cutting out the silly defensive errors.

'It is important that we keep collecting points to start climbing up the league.

'After Tuesday there is a great mood in the camp and we have to continue that.'

Moneys are unlikely to have playmaker George

Barker due to the injury he suffered early on in the FA Cup loss to Cray last week.

Tyler Giddings (knee) and Connor Hoare (holiday) are two other absentees.

Carter is excited by the strike partnership of Steve Hutchings and newcomer Kieran Roberts.

They started together for the first time at Thatcham and each bagged a brace.

Carter believes they have an important part to play.

'They are both big, powerful strikers,' he said.

'Kieran has got a bit of pace about him and Steve, with his experience, is a talisman of the side.

'I have said in the past that when Steve is in the side we play well.

'They can be a great combination for us and both were ruthless in the first half at Thatcham. They have the potential to get a bag full of goals this season.'

Paulton will provide a stiff test and will also arrive full of confidence following their 5-0 win at Cinderford Town in midweek.

Moneyfields lost 2-1 at Cinderford on the opening day of the season.
