MP offers eBay for businesses

-

AN MP and former entrepreneur is giving a crash course in how to use an online marketplace to grow businesses.

Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage is hosting two free online digital skills workshops, teaching people how to use eBay to set up and grow their businesses, and another session for existing eBay users.

Ms Dinenage believes that in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, developing an online marketplace is crucial for budding entrepreneurs to succeed.

She said: ‘This has been a very difficult year and many small businesses were asked to close their doors temporarily to stop the spread of Covid-19.

‘This, coupled with changing consumer behaviour and unsettled economic circumstances, has meant that local businesses have branched out and shifted their business to online sales.

‘I hope these free workshops will equip local businesses with the tools and knowledge they need to sell successfully on eBay.’

The events are being co-hosted by eBay, and taking place on November 6 and November 13, from 9am-1pm.

Rob Hattrell, senior vice president and head of eBay Europe, added: ‘For small businesses up and down the country, the ability to continue trading online has been a lifeline.

‘In a post-Brexit world, it’s even more important that we equip small businesses with the tools they need to reach new markets overseas.’

To sign up or ask a question, entrepreneurs can follow the link on Ms Dinenage’s Facebook page.
