Where are our MPs and why are they not taking part in debates?

-

I regularly watch the BBC Parliament Channel when they have ‘live’ debates.

But just recently I have been amazed by how many members of parliament have been attending debates.

Many debates I have watched in the House of Commons have been virtually empty.

Just recently I counted eight completely empty benches and one or two with just a couple of members of parliament seated.

I understand the need for social distancing under the present climate but I think that our members of parliament are taking it to an all new level.

But with so many MPs whom are now ‘working from home’, I guess travel and food subsistances SHOULD NOT be claimed because where would they be going to claim travel allowances. For food, surely if they are ‘working from home, they should/could be using the food that they have in their individual fridges.

Also I am amazed by our local MPs. Since the return to parliament after the summer recess – with the exception of Labour MP for the Portsmouth South, Stephen Morgan – I have NOT seen Suella Braverman, Caroline Dinenage, Flick Drummond, Alan Mak and Penny Mordaunt attend one debate in the House of Commons unless I blinked and missed them.

Now we, as voters, elected these people to represent us in parliament and the House of Commons but how can they represent us if they are compricious by their absence from being seen at debates in The House of Commons.

I would love to see my MP, Penny Mordaunt, attend a debate. Then I would be a happy chappy.
