Elliotts looks to take on 13 new apprentices

-

THIRTEEN apprentices are being sought by one of the largest suppliers of building materials in the UK.

Elliotts Builders Merchant, which has branches in Portsmouth and Fareham, is recruiting 13 new apprentices for 2021.

The apprentices will spend 13 months working at one of Elliotts’ branches across Hampshire while earning a Level 2 Customer Service qualification.

Budding apprentices will learn the variety of skills it takes to run a builders merchant, with the possibility of a full-time job on completion.

Mireille Nicholson, HR manager, said: ‘We’ve had many success stories since we launched our apprenticeship scheme in 2014, so we’re excited to start our search for 13 new apprentices.

‘Coronavirus has affected plans for so many of us, but it won’t change our recruitment of apprentices. They play a pivotal role in our branches and we have many employees that have come from our apprenticeship programme.’

Mollie Oram, from the 2017 intake of apprentices, was offered a full-time role in admin and sales at Elliotts’ Tadley branch on completion of her apprenticeship.

‘As an apprentice, you work alongside experienced staff, building up knowledge, skills and responsibility, and gaining qualifications,’ said Mollie.

‘The apprenticeship scheme is a great way to get your foot in the door and I would highly recommend it to others.’

Elliotts is looking for apprentices to be based in their branches in Portsmouth, Fareham, Southampton, Bishop’s Waltham, Chandler’s Ford, Christchurch, Fordingbridge, Lymington, Ringwood, Romsey, Tadley, Totton and Winchester.
