230-mile commute for salesman with a decade of service

Dean travels from Cheshire for part of working week

-

SALESMAN Dean Frampton loves his job so much that not only has he notched up a decade with the same firm – he also commutes 230 miles to get to it.

The 39-year-old, from Warrington, started out in telesales with CSG, the UK’s biggest independent waste specialist, and is now a manager based at its headquarters in Barnes Wallis Road, Segensworth.

He travels from his home in Cheshire on a Tuesday morning, stays locally, then returns Thursday evening, working in Manchester on a Monday and Friday.

The talented salesman has notched up 10 years with the company and his career continues to go from strength to strength.

Dean said: ‘I cannot believe that I have been with CSG for a decade.

‘The company has a real heritage and you do feel part of the family and that they support you in your career. You are not a number and certainly feel valued.

‘If you have an idea you can put it to the business development manager or the operations manager and feel that you will be listened to, which I really like. It is great to feel that you can help the business.’

Dean has worked in the industry for 20 years. When he joined CSG, he handled hazardous waste telesales at its Cadishead site, near Manchester.

He said: ‘The department was really successful, and the team grew as we took on more personnel. Last year, I took over industrial and domestic telesales, which is based in Fareham. The move saw me take on the role of telesales manager and I oversee all three departments now. I felt there was a real argument for one person to provide a nationwide approach for the whole telesales team and create an environment where we can all share ideas and have a team ethos. It is going really well.

‘I thoroughly enjoy helping the business grow. We drive a lot of new business and it is great to know that what we do can have a positive effect on the business, sales, profit, and growth.’

Selling seems to be in Dean’s blood and he admits that even as a young teenager he would go to scrapyards to find items he could sell.

‘I get a real buzz out of selling, there is nothing else like it,’ added the family man, who is married with one child and a dog. I am in a great position as I have a wonderful team to work with.’
