How To Spend It Well At Christmas With Phillip Schofield, Tuesday, ITV, 8pm

In the second episode, Phillip and his team of experts give viewers the low down on some of this year’s best gifts and gadgets, from unique postal gifts to delicious food kits, so that they can spoil their loved ones this Christmas and make the most of their festive budget.

In search of the knife, Will and Lyra try to gain entry into the Torre Degli Angeli. In Oxford, Boreal’s offer of private funding is rebuked by Mary. Lee finds Grumman – or Jopari as he is now known. Inside the tower, Lyra and Will discover a tied-up Giacomo and are forced into a tense battle.

An incredible roll call of British chefs, all former winners of the competitio­n, compete to prepare an extra special festive feast for some of the heroes of this year’s pandemic, with a total of 17 Michelin stars competing across the series. Great British Menu judge Andi Oliver takes charge of proceeding­s.

Nigella begins this episode by delving into a historical cookbook, which contains a recipe for one of her favourite ingredient­s – the anchovy. She narrates a quick creamy anchovy dressing recipe, which is served with bitter leaves and walnuts. She then creates an elixir with anchovies,garlic and oil.

Snooker: UK Championsh­ip, BBC One, Saturday, 1.15pm

The BBC Snooker season gets underway at the 2020 UK Championsh­ip, the first ‘Triple Crown’ event of the season. For the first time, Milton Keynes will play host to the event, in line with Covid-19 regulation­s. Coverage continues on BBC Two over the weekend and throughout the week.
