POMPEY fans have continued the debate on Twitter after Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Peterborough United.
Second-half strikes from Jack Whatmough and Tom Naylor gave the Blues an impressive and fullydeserved win against one of their rivals for promotion from League One.
The result lifted Pompey up to fourth in the table and they remain the division’s leading scorers, having now netted 28 times in 16 league fixtures – once more than leaders Hull City, albeit after playing one more game.
Here’s what they’ve been saying on fans’ return to Fratton Park and Naylor’s imperious goalscoring form after his latest screamer.

Even listening to @Pompey on the radio, hearing our fans again, it just made me feel so alive it’s like the heartbeat is back in our wonderful football club PUP
@PropPersonnel
Blessed to have been there today, but blatantly evident to see the effect the #Pompey faithful had on our players.
@OliverHarry
The colder it gets, the better Tom Naylor plays.....

Fratton Park only had 2000 but we had our best game of the season. Players taken to a new level. Tear in the eye at the start with the Play Up Pompey songs. Magical.

Well I cheered and sang for us all and now have a lovely croaky voice! Well worth it though - what a game everyone had and a fab result - onto the next game we go.

The fact that 2000 #pompey fans can still make more noise than a lot of clubs with a full house amuses me greatly. You 2000 did the ones who couldn’t be there very proud!

Tom Naylor...worldy taker. What a strike! Again. The man deemed not good enough to play in the play-off semi-finals, due to it being ‘summer football’.
That decision by Jackett will go down in history as the most absurd in our times. Especially with who replaced him.
