Painstakin­g police probe shows teen’s final weeks

DETECTIVES in the investigat­ion helped prosecutor­s paint a ‘clear and compelling case’ of murder. Here is how the awful events played out.

▪ April 25: Louise moves into her aunt Chazlynn Mays, known as CJ, and Shane Mays’ home in Ringwood House.

▪ A Snapchat video is recorded by Louise of Mays tickling her feet at the one-bed flat.

▪ May 7: Louise says CJ and Mays are ‘vile’.

▪ At 11.57am she speaks with family friend Samantha Burt ‘hysterical’ on the phone, wanting to move in with her.

▪ Between 12.31pm and 2.25pm CJ calls 51 times.

▪ At 1.17pm Louise and a friend are seen on CCTV in a shop, Mays later enters it and they are in there together.

▪ By 3.46pm Louise is back at the flat, having told CJ she wants to see her boyfriend Bradley Kercher and smoke cannabis, which she’s not allowed to do at their home.

▪ Mays asks Louise ‘is it me that you don’t like?’ but she says that is not right.

▪ Between 7.24pm-8.04pm CJ, Mays and Louise go to shops and Mays buys £30 of alcohol from a £50 fortnightl­y budget.

▪ Overnight Louise messages a mental health helpline and said: ‘I can’t help it I have started self-harming again I can’t cope.’ Asleep by 3.11am.

▪ May 8: At 11.52am Louise posts a Snapchat photo selfie with the caption ‘worst hangover going’.

At 12.49pm Louise sends a final message, a response is left unread and her Snapmaps were then off. Mays said it was then he walked with her to Havant Thicket.

▪ At 3.13pm, 3.14pm and 3.16pm CJ calls Louise.

▪ CCTV captures Mays at 3.11pm walking by the entrance to Warren Park Primary School. He goes to his mum’s house in Stratfield Gardens where he is ‘hot and sweaty’, and says he took Louise to Emsworth.

▪ At 4pm Mays returns home into Ringwood House, and tells Bradley Kercher he took Louise to Emsworth.

▪ At 4.47pm-4.59pm Mays buys four Iceland pizzas, including one for Louise.

▪ By 6.32pm CJ calls police and reports Louise missing.

▪ Between 8.59pm to 9.35pm Mays is out the flat, claiming he is searching for Louise.

▪ May 9: At 1am police arrive at Ringwood House.

▪ May 12: At 11.50am Mays asks police if he could ‘lock Louise in the bedroom if she returned’.

▪ May 13: Louise’s body found burned and defiled in a clearing at Havant Thicket.

▪ At 7.22pm Mays tries to deflect blame to Bradley, saying he is shady.

▪ May 14: At 8.05pm CJ and Mays arrested for kidnap.

▪ May 27: Around 12pm Mays arrested for murder at a hotel.
