Pompey defender Sean Raggett wants to add to his goal tally.

SEAN Raggett has been set a 10-goal Pompey target this season.

And the Pompey defender believes it’s not unrealistic for him to hit double figures from the back for the

Blues before the end of the campaign.

The 26-year-old has three goals to his name so far, and can count himself unfortunate not have to more to his name with four games to go until the halfway point in the league.

Raggett looked to have added to his total in the 2-0 win at Hull last time out, but the final touch was applied by Jacob Greaves under pressure from the defender.

There’s little doubt the former Norwich man’s presence has been a key factor in his side’s threat from set-pieces this season.

Raggett’s best return at senior level is eight goals with Lincoln in the 2016-17 season, which memorably included the winner over Burnley on the non-league Imps’ run to the FA Cup quarter-finals.

The permanent summer signing’s form has been one of the standouts from his team’s march to the top of the table, before Pompey’s season came to a standstill.

But Raggett feels he can still improve with increased goal threat as and when games resume.

He said: ‘I feel that I should score goals and chip in regularly.

‘I’m happy with how it’s going this season but should have scored a few more, to be honest.

‘I normally chip in with a few goals and I pride myself on doing that.

‘I’ve got a number of goals I want to get to and my agent feels I should be getting 10 goals. I’d be happy with that. ‘The best I’ve got is eight when I was with Lincoln.

‘That’s the most I’ve got in one season so it’s not an unrealistic target.’

Raggett goals are part of an improved all-round contribution from Pompey this term.

John Marquis leads the way with 11 goals with both Marcus Harness and Ronan Curtis bagging eight goals to date.

Tom Naylor’s hit an impressive six strikes with Raggett, Ellis Harrison and Jordy Hiwula next up with three goals apiece.
