A ROUND-UP of some of the recent cases before Portsmouth magistrate­s.

Lee Harris, 35, of

Northern Parade, Hilsea, admitted damaging a phone worth £160 in Havant on September 12, 2019.

He admitted damaging a lampshade on the same day.

He must pay £170 compensati­on, a £100 fine, £90 surcharge and £85 costs.

Magistrate­s imposed a 12-month restrainin­g order and a nine-month community order with 10 days' rehabilita­tion activities.

Krzysztof Kranz, 26, of Kingston Road, Portsmouth, admitted jointly stealing trainers in

Matalan worth £4.50 on February 18 last year.

He admitted jointly stealing a £34.99 pair of trainers at TK Maxx on the same day, and damaging a police van to the value of £61.87.

He also admitted failing to turn up at court on December 1.

He was fined £120 with a 12-month community order and 10 days' rehabilita­tion activities.

He must pay a £90 surcharge and £85 costs.

Natalie Truscott, 47, of Jubilee Road, Waterloovi­lle, admitted drink-driving in Forest End, Waterloovi­lle, on June 26 last year.

A breath test revealed he had 140 microgramm­es of alcohol in 100 millilitre­s of breath.

Magistrate­s imposed a 12-month community order with 20 days' rehabilita­tion activities and 100 hours' unpaid work.

Magistrate­s banned her from driving for three years. She must pay a £95 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Joshua King, 33, of HMP Winchester, was jailed for 18 weeks.

He was found guilty of two charges of assault by beating on June 24 in 2019 in Portsmouth.

He must pay a £128 victim surcharge.

He was also convicted of damaging items at Co-op in Portsmouth but received no separate penalty.

Zoe-Marie Mitchell, 33, of HMP Bronzefiel­d, admitted using racially-aggravated threatenin­g or abusive words or behaviour on

June 10 last year.

Magistrate­s imposed a nine-month conditiona­l discharge with £21 victim surcharge.

Richard Stanley, 48, of Romsey Avenue, Fareham, admitted harassing a woman causing fear of violence between July 31 and August 8 in 2020.

Magistrate­s imposed a two-year community order with 25 days' rehabilita­tion activities.

He repeatedly contacted the woman using email, Facebook, texts, phone calls and went to an address in Lynn Crescent, Fareham.

Stanley must pay £250 compensati­on.
