A ROUND-UP of some of the recent cases before Portsmouth magistrate­s.

Peris Dore, 29, of Whitworth Road, Gosport, admitted failing to comply with a community order.

He was fined £120 with £60 costs.

Matthew Heard, 27, of

Leigh Road, Fareham, admitted failing to comply with a community order and was fined £150 with £30 costs.

Adam Baker, 31, care of Ashburton Road, Southsea, was jailed for 14 weeks after admitting failing to comply with notificati­on requiremen­ts. This is his ninth breach of requiremen­ts.

Joshua Radcliffe ,20,of Marlow Close, Fareham, admitted damaging a book and trousers while in custody in Portsmouth on February 23. Magistrate­s fined him £100 with a £32 victim surcharge.

Billy Carlisle, 35, of

Ludlow Road, Paulsgrove, admitted breaching a restrainin­g order on December 9 in 2019.

He was handed an 18-month conditiona­l discharge. But he was jailed for four months for two charges of assaulting a police officer on June 26 at the Ibis hotel in Winston Churchill Avenue in Portsmouth. He admitted using threatenin­g or abusive words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour.

The offending involved spitting and kicking.

He admitted all charges, and damaging a holding cell.

Daniel Kinsey, 30, of Island View, Stamshaw, Portsmouth, admitted assaulting a police officer on May 8.

Magistrate­s imposed a 12-month community order with 15 days' rehabilita­tion activities. He was fined

£150 with £200 compensati­on to pay, a £95 surcharge and £85 costs.

Scott Sleet, 42, of Eastern Road, Copnor, admitted causing harassment, alarm or distress in Portsmouth on August 25. Magistrate­s fined him £120 with

£50 compensati­on, £34 surcharge and £85 costs.

John Kelly, 46, of St Albans Road, West Leigh, Havant, was jailed for 178 days. He admitted joint theft at B&M in Havant on August 10, and three assaults at the store.

He admitted using threatenin­g, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of violence on September 19, and stealing six bottles of cider from Co-op on the same day.

He admitted causing racially-aggravated harassment, alarm or distress and damaging a holding cell in Portsmouth.

He admitted assaulting a police officer by beating.

Kelly admitted stealing food at Marks and Spencer on December 6 in 2019.
