■ IT WAS a positive night of results for Pompey as they closed the gap on the automatic promotion spots.

The Blues saw the distance to the top two reduced to six points after the latest round of action in League One.

Kenny Jackett’s men moved up to fourth in the table above Doncaster, after Darren Moore’s side saw their clash with Blackpool called off due to a waterlogge­d pitch at 6pm.

Elsewhere, Hull lost 1-0 at home to Ipswich and Lincoln were held to a 2-2 draw by struggling Swindon.
