Free event hosted by editor of The News to feature five expert panellists
TICKETS are still available for a free online event that will tackle some of your burning questions about Covid-19.
As part of a Microsoft Teams session on March 4, hosted by editor of The News, Mark Waldron, five panellists will respond to queries from the public about coronavirus.
So far more than 50 spaces have been filled for the hourlong event that will feature Helen Atkinson, the city’s public health director, Councillor Matthew Winnington, the city council’s health boss, Angela Anderson, clinical director for vaccinations at Solent NHS Trust, GP Dr Abu Mohammed and Superintendent Clare Jenkins from Hampshire Constabulary.
Cllr Winnington said: ‘I’m looking forward to this live session to hear people’s concerns and questions.
Not being face-to-face with people over the last 12 months has been difficult on many fronts – meeting with people is how I get a better understanding of how I can help and where I should be focusing my efforts in my role as cabinet member for health, wellbeing and social care.’
Residents have the chance to register their questions for panellists when signing up to the event online.
Mr Waldron encouraged readers to take part.
‘This is a really unique opportunity to address any questions and concerns people in Portsmouth have about coronavirus,’ he said. ‘So I would urge as may people as possible to get involved – even if you don’t have a question yourself, it will still be worth hearing what our experts have to say.’
The event will take place between 6pm and 7pm on Thursday, March 4.
