Boud ‘aggrieved and angry’ with massive 14-game FA suspension
‘I’ve been accused of saying something I haven’t said’
Wayne Boud has been 'angered' by a massive 14-match suspension handed to him by the Football Association for a remark he claims he ‘never said'.
And the 34-year-old, who plays for Hampshire Premier League side Fleetlands, is questioning whether to continue playing after being slapped with the huge ban, £75 fine and being ordered to attend a face-to-face FA education course.
Boud's two charges of breaching FA Rule E3 and FA Rule E3(2) during a HPL match for former club Infinity at Stockbridge on September 26 last year were upheld by a disciplinary panel.
He was found guilty of using offensive language towards Stockbridge’s Jagroop Dusanjh, who also received a six-match ban, £25 fine and was told to attend an online FA education course for a breach of FA Rule E3(2) while holding the right to appeal.
Infinity owners Jody Hoare and Simon Tribe had charges of FA Rule E3 breaches from the same match upheld, with Hoare handed a two-game stadium ban as a result.
But Boud is continuing to plead his innocence and feels he has been 'harshly dealt with'bytheFA.
‘I’ve been accused of saying something which I haven’t said. Given all the evidence, they’ve still brandished me with a 14-game ban,' he explained.
‘It didn’t happen. It’s been through a tribunal, panel and all sorts but I’ve still been brandished with a 14-game ban.
'They’ve made the decision to punish me.
‘I know I haven’t said anything in that manner (what he was accused of).
‘To be brandished that and to be made out to be something I'm not - it’s not very nice.
‘It’s crazy. I just feel a bit aggrieved and angry by the way it’s been dealt with.'
Boud is now considering whether to call time on his playing career.
His ban states that previous club Infinity - not his current side Fleetlands - must complete 14 matches before he is permitted to play again.
He only appeared three times for the Coptermen - winning on each occasion and scoring twice in a 5-1 win against Liss - before the HPL was paused in mid-December.
‘I’m at the stage now where it’s got to the point I’m thinking about retiring because of the way it’s been dealt with,' said Boud.
‘I’m 34 and with all this it’s 14 games lockdown, it could be a long time before I play again.
‘I’ll be 35 by the time next season starts so I’m wondering if it’s all worth it anymore.'
Boud had spells higher up the pyramid with Gosport Borough, Moneyfields, Fareham Town, Romsey and Blackfield & Langley before dropping down to the Hampshire League for the 2019-20 season.
Ambitious Infinity brought him on board with the aim of reaching the Wessex League.
They looked on course to achieve that under boss Danny Thompson, going 24 league matches unbeaten, before the FA controversially declared the campaign 'null and void' shortly the first lockdown imposed. after was
Boud is now at another side with ambitions of reaching the Wessex League - Fleetlands - and he now has to wait to see if another promotion opportunity will be taken away from him. The Hampshire Premier League have decided to curtail the 2020/21 campaign and instead play a Supplementary Cup competition starting on April 10.
The likes of Fleetlands and Infinity must now wait to see
Wayne Boud has only played three matches for Fleetlands if they are offered promotion by the governing body in the event of a close-season restructure of the bottom of the non-league pyramid.
‘At Infinity we went 24 games unbeaten and then it got pretty much snatched away from us,' Boud rued.
‘This season I was at Infinity and now Fleetlands - we were sat in third position, flying and doing really well.
‘Now it looks as though this season teams who are doing well, you’ve got Bush Hill and Pauslgrove who haven’t lost a game, they’re going to miss out.
‘It’s just sort square one.'
I’m thinking about retiring because of the way it’s been dealt with
