Hampshire’s charity link up with Lashings
Hampshire have joined forces with the club known as the Harlem Globetrotters of the cricketing world.
The partnership will see the Hampshire Cricket Foundation become the official charity of Lashings World XI in 2021.
The link-up will be underpinned by two new events taking place at The Ageas Bowl this summer in aid of the HCF.
The first, a Sir Gordon Greenidge Golf Day, will take place at The Ageas Bowl’s Boundary Lakes Golf Course on July 21.
Greenidge, a Hampshire and West Indies legend of the 1970s and 1980s, will be present along with a range of other sporting personalities.
The second event is a charity fundraising fixture featuring a Hampshire All-Star XI and a Lashings World XI, with a T20 match between the two sides at The Ageas Bowl on Saturday, August 28.
That will be one of two games played that day as the Southern Vipers take on South East Stars in a T20 clash on the same afternoon.
Tickets for this doubleheader are available now, priced from £10 for adults and £5 for U17s.

The Lashings all-star XI was founded in the 1980s, with Charlton getting involved in 2004 after attending a Lashings game at BAT Sports, then the reigning Southern Premier League champions, who were based in Totton.
A host of former internationals have appeared for Lashings down the years, including Brian Lara, Sachin Tendulkar, Mark Waugh and Richie Richardson.
According to their website, the 2021 Lashings squad includes Greenidge and his fellow West Indies legends Courtney Walsh and Curtly Ambrose, as well as ex-England players Andy Caddick, John Emburey, Chris Lewis and Devon Malcolm.
