With over 1,000 Spotify playlists dedicated to helping motivate you through your work, Parkers wanted to find out the most popular songs people play to get them in the mood for a big home spring clean.

After analysing the playlists, consisting of 196,988 tracks between them, Parkers has revealed the top songs and artists for scrubbing, dusting and tidying to.

The top ten most popular cleaning songs in order of ranking are;

The analysis revealed that ‘No Scrubs’ by TLC is the most popular song people like to listen to while cleaning.

Other iconic hits in the top ten include country singer Dolly Parton’s ‘9 to 5’ and the Spice Girls with ‘Wannabe’.

Another firm favourite is Cardi B’s hit, ‘WAP’ (featuring Megan Thee Stallion), which comes in at number three; this popular hit was released in 2020 and rose to number one in the UK charts, where it stayed for three weeks.

Former One Direction lead Harry Styles also appears in the top ten at number five with a song from his latest album ‘Watermelon Sugar’.

Both Harry Styles and Cardi B are also some of the most listened to artists throughout the top 100 songs.

Looking at how many songs each top ranking artist has had in the top 100, the tally is as follows ...

Ariana Grande, four, Bruno Mars, Cardi B, Ed Sheeran, and Harry Styles, all three, and the remaining artists have all had two such hits.

Ariana Grande is the most popular artist across all 1,000 cleaning playlists on Spotify.

The analysis revealed that four of her hits, ‘Positions’, ‘7 rings’, ‘34+35’ and ‘thank u, next’ all appear within the top 100 songs.

Bruno Mars, Cardi B, Ed Sheeran and Harry Styles are all the second most listened to artists throughout the playlists, showing people prefer more modern hits to help them power through their cleaning.

Ariana Grande has had four consecutive number one albums in the UK singles chart.

She is also the only artist to have their first five number one singles debut at the top spot, to have three number one-debuts in one calendar year, and to have all lead singles from each of her first six studio albums debut in the top ten.

Little surprise she makes the household charts too!
