IN THE COURTS
DEFENDANTS at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court have been sentenced for their crimes.
■ Daniel Brown, 34, of Cheltenham Road, Paulsgrove, admitted having cocaine, a class A drug, in Portsmouth on January 2.
He admitted failing to show at court on April 1 and was fined £200 in total.
He must pay a £34 surcharge and £45 costs – the drugs must be destroyed.
■ Eunice Criu, 42, of Magennis Close, Gosport, admitted drink-driving in Lindon Grove on April 10.
A breath test revealed he had 84 microgramme of alcohol in 100 millilitres. The legal limit is 35. He was fined £300 with a £34 surcharge and £85 costs. Magistrates banned him from driving for 12 months.
■ Mark Webb, 36, of Catisfield Road, Milton, admitted resisting a police officer on May 4 last year in Portsmouth. He was fined £150 with £100 compensation to pay. He must pay a £34 surcharge and £310 costs.
■ Emma Boxall, 49, of Longlands Road, Soutbourne, admitted damaging a Vauxhall Corsa to the value of £2,275 in Emsworth on July 24 last year. She must pay £895 compensation and serve a 12-month conditional discharge.
■ Cameron Grant, 24, of Deals Gateway, Greenwich, London, admitted drink-driving in Warsash Road, Locks Heath, on September 20. Magistrates imposed a £307 fine with £34 surcharge and £85 costs.
Grant was banned from driving for 18 months.
■ Oliver Newton, 19, of Beaufort Road, Bedhampton, admitted having cannabis, a class B drug, on December 6 last year.
He was fined £121 with a £34 surcharge and £85 costs. An order was made to destroy the drugs.
■ Hayley Gray, 37, of Herne Road, Wymering, admitting stealing £39.66 worth of goods from Tesco in Portsmouth August 18. Magistrates imposed a six-month conditional discharge with £22 surcharge and £85 costs.
■ Phillip Emakpose, 47, of Barnett Road, Brighton, admitted assaulting a police officer by beating on August 12 last year at the Eastern police investigation centre in Portsmouth. Magistrates imposed a 12-month community order with 10 days’ rehabilitation activities. He must pay £100 compensation with a £95 surcharge and £85 costs. ■ Bradley Walker, 27, of Jason Place, Widley, admitted assault by beating on November 21, harassment of a woman between November 20 and 23 and improper use of public electronic communications network on November 21.Magistrates imposed an 18-month community order with 50 hours’ unpaid work and 30 days’ rehabilitation activities. A restraining order bans him from contacting the victim for two years.
He must pay a £95 surcharge and £85 costs.
