A SUCCESSFUL divorce solicitor who has built up a solid reputation after 11 years of practising in London is bringing his service to his home city.

Adrian Silk, who was born and grew up in Portsmouth, has been an accredited specialist family and divorce solicitor for more than 25 years.

The 52-year-old has previously conducted most of his work in Paddington and Maida Vale, with a small office at Lakeside, North Harbour – however he now wants to grow his Portsmouth client base.

Adrian, who lives in Port Solent, said: ‘I would like to expand in Portsmouth, my home city.

‘I am a huge Pompey fan, and I sponsored the team three times before the pandemic.

‘I have built up my business through word of mouth and recommendations in London but now I would like to offer my help locally.

‘I offer a cost-effective supportive service – and I am sure that has been the reason for my referrals and my success.’

Adrian, a dad-of-one, went to St John’s College in Southsea before going on to study law in Reading.

He said that family law was the area that most interested him at university.

‘There is so much in family law, obviously divorce is a big part of it, but it was the area I enjoyed,’ he said. ‘It can be very complex, it’s not easy, but for me it’s all about communicating with people. Part of the job is getting to know people, they rely on you at a difficult time in their lives.’

He said that he gives ‘clear, considered advice that is jargon-free and cost-effective.’

He added most of his cases end up with a settlement without going to court, saving time, money and distress for his customers.
