This Christmas, Titchfield Festival Theatre continuues its tradition of performing original pantomimes using local playwrights with The Goose Girl, based on the Brothers Grimm story. Using the storyline and original characters, the writing is a new, neverseen-before script. The

Goose Girl is a story that is full of enchantment, excitement with good old pantomime traditions and lots of fun for all ages. Where else but pantomime would you come across a talking horse, a magical Dame, an Elvis impersonator and the love triangle of Prince Conrad, Princess Talianna and the Evil Sorceress Abigail?

Sassy Harvey is TFT’s deputy artistic director and director of the panto. She says: ‘I have always watched pantomime every year with my family since I was a little girl, and it’s a tradition we still uphold today with my family and son.

‘Therefore, I have a real fondness and excitement when writing and directing the panto.

‘It was important to me to create a show that will bring families together, let them boo, cheer, laugh and leave with that warm Christmas feeling at pantomime should

ing. And I think TFT’s anto does just that. We also have this year a

ntastic chorus ranging m the ages 4–84, ging a real community theatre aspect to this family show. ‘Rehearsals have been hilariously good fun. I forgot how funny it was working with the unpredictable Kevin Fraser as he takes on the role of the Dame, Queen Goldie. ‘Watching the chorus try to stay in character, when all they want to do is giggle and seeing all the scenes come alive by the talented cast is wonderful.

‘We can’t wait for the opening night!’
