Power problem

-

I’m hoping now, that after recent events, the eco warrior brigade will start to really think about the futility of this electric-only everything, seemingly with no back up plan.

Wind and the weight of snow, something no human has control over, has brought down power lines leaving many households even days later with no electricity. For those reliant on electricity as their sole power source, they will have no light or heat, nothing to cook on, with the fridge and freezer gradually thawing out.

Add to that no television, the mobile phone running out of battery, and of course no computer to air their plight on social media and unable to charge up the car. This is something we should learn to live with, the fragility of life imposed by those who would ban everything except breathing.

Of course, those not suffering too much are those who have alternatives, a wood burning stove, no, not suitable for all buildings we know, or a gas supply for cooking and a fireplace for heating. With a back up plan life can go on, unfortunately there are those who would force everybody to live in constant trepidation of the next power cut.

It can’t be allowed to happen, this craven addiction to a futile senseless dogma that will see all our options destroyed, for a plan promised to clean up the planet and save the world in exactly 15/20/30 years’ time. Where is all this extra electricity going to come from, wind farms or the sun peeping out from behind a cloud of volcanic ash? They say we should learn from history, so the term eggs and basket springs to mind. The 1980s had us believing that London was the capital of the universe, selling pension plans and financial products was the way forward. Big business got richer by using cheap labour from faraway lands to produce and sell us cheap, shoddy goods. To say this has come back to bite us on the bum is an understatement. We are placated by the current soothing expression ‘supply chain problems’, but we can’t pull ourselves up because we don’t have the machinery to get us going again.

Under constant attack from ‘experts’ and vociferous weekend placard wavers we see our fall-back position destroyed as the great ‘evils’ of oil, gas, and even wasteburning are cancelled. We are leaving it all exposed to the natural elements mankind has no influence or control over.
