I don’t want my in-laws’ dogs near my baby

-

Q

My in-laws have two dogs that are always very good natured but very excitable. They keep jumping up on to things to get to my baby girl whenever we visit.

I have pushed them away whenever I see it, but my in-laws think I am making a fuss about nothing. I have tried to get them to see that I am serious about this, but they do nothing to stop the dogs. I don’t know how much longer I can keep my cool. I now avoid seeing them whenever possible. Am I being unreasonable?

A

No, not at all – this is your baby and how you want to take care of her is important. If a child or baby becomes the centre of attention, then dogs can display jealousy that can become aggressive. As they have not responded to your requests so far, I suspect you’ll have to issue some sort of ultimatum. This should be from both you and your husband together but need not be confrontational. Calmly explain that you are both genuinely worried about this and that you would like them to keep the dogs off.

Q

My husband and I have always had a good sex life. However, he recently bought some Viagra off the internet and wants to use it to spice things up. I was a bit shocked because I am not aware of either of us having any problems right now. He said it’s not for a problem, and that it’s just for fun.

I have heard there can be some nasty side effects with Viagra, and I am not sure he should be risking his health ‘just for fun’. He thinks I am worrying unnecessarily. Is he right?

A

I personally think you are right to be concerned. Many people buy such drugs regularly from the internet, and often from apparently reputable sources. However, there is also a real risk if you’re buying drugs online from unreliable sources or using them without appropriate guidance. Additionally, even if the Viagra is genuine, all drugs can carry certain risks for people with medical conditions. If he is determined to go ahead with this, he really should speak to his doctor first.
