HELP THE COMMUNITY AND VOLUNTEER WITH US
Citizens Advice Portsmouth was one of the first 200 Citizens Advice offices to open.
We did this on September 4, 1939, the day after the Second World War started. We provide information and advice to the people of Portsmouth and the surrounding areas.
Our team have an amazing group of dedicated volunteers working with us and without them, we wouldn’t be here.
Our volunteers are integral to making our services work. Many of our volunteers are students at the University of Portsmouth.
Here are two of our current team.
Rhiannon Parnell says: ‘I am a relatively new volunteer researcher for Citizens Advice Portsmouth, and I’m really enjoying it so far! I love the opportunity of getting to write short articles for people to read and hopefully enjoy.
I am currently a third-year student studying International Development at Portsmouth – so naturally I spend a lot of my time studying.’
Jinto Varghese says: ‘I have been working with Citizens Advice Portsmouth as trainee project manager in the business development team. It is a fun team to work with. Meanwhile, I am pursuing my masters in Project Management. Volunteering provides me with the opportunity to practice my skills and I like the flexibility of my role. I can combine this with my university studies while gaining the practical experience needed to be a project manager – all of which will assist me when applying for future job opportunities.’
