A lucky find for Chipper and Brindley

-

reetings Chipsters everywhere! How are you all this fine Chewsday? After all last week’s Jubilee fun – Brindley and I decided we needed to take a break. Partying, playing and munching on sausage rolls sure does take it out of you!

We spent most of the week dozing in the sun, with Brindley occasionally swatting a fly while I lifted a droopy eyelid to see what all the fuss was about. By the weekend, mum was wondering what had got into us. She said: ‘Don’t just sit and chase your tails all day, go and make yourselves useful!’ So that’s exactly what we did. Brindley and I trotted off to the local park in search of a new mission, even though we weren’t quite sure what it would be.

On our way, we passed Mrs Baker, who lives at number four in our lane. Before I could bark out a hello, she walked past in a worried frenzy, grasping at her hand and staring at her shoes. Brindley’s brow furrowed forming a confused expression, but we didn’t think much else of it and continued on our trek. We wandered through the long grass, occasionally spotting some movement and leaping playfully into the long green strands.

When we got to the lake, it wasn’t long before I noticed something glinting and twinkling in the murky water. I thought back to Mrs Baker’s troubled expression and bare finger and it clicked – a ring! We chose the longest stick we could find and got to work fishing it out, we soon headed for

Mrs Baker’s with smiles on our snouts. We were only mildly disappointed it wasn’t treasure...

Chip chip for now, your old friend Chipper.
