Only Murders in the Building s2 (Disney, from June 28) Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez excel in this sparkling comedy crime drama, as three residents of an apartment building who share a passion from true-crime podcasts. Season one won critical acclaim and this second run has been eagerly anticipated by fans – not least because of the manner in which the last one ended. Of course, the original murder – Tim’s – has been solved thanks to the trio, but the stakes are higher for Bunny’s death, because this time they’re in the frame themselves. The police suspecting their guilt is one thing, but the snooty neighbours giving them the cold shoulder is quite another. Meanwhile, a competing podcast has turned its focus onto them. What could be worse?

Stranger Things s4 v2 (Netflix, from July 1)

The second volume of the retro fantasy smash-hit’s fourth series drops, and ever since the first batch in May, Hawkins, Indiana, has been all we’ve been able to talk about. Again. So ,thank you Netflix for putting us out of our misery swiftly rather than drip-feeding us weekly episode releases. If you still haven’t seen the seven episodes comprising volume one, you’ll want to look away now lest you learn that the identity of Vecna has been revealed as Victor Creel’s son Henry, the perpetrator of the lab massacre and subject 001 of Brenner’s sinister experiments. But do our young heroes do with this information – and how does Eleven feel knowing that it was her sending Henry to the Upside Down to save herself that caused him to become Vecna?

All Star Shore (Paramount, from June 30)

The ultimate reality-show mash-up will no doubt divide opinions about whether this is a step too far or simply the next natural evolution of the entertainment format. Either way, though, it promises to be good value as 14 of the world’s biggest reality TV stars come together for an epic holiday of a lifetime – and the chance to win a big cash prize. Among them are Jersey Shore’s Angelina Pivarnick, Geordie Shore’s Bethan Kershaw and Chloe Ferry, Drag Race’s Miss Vanjie, and Joey Essex, who surely needs no introduction. The group go headto-head in a series of party-based games, while living together Ex on the Beach-style. It’s from the same studio – MTV – so we can expect a similar vibe (read: chaos), and we kick off with a double bill.
