A rare bit of a stretch for a brain workout

-

reetings Chipsters everywhere!

How are you all? I mean how are you REALLY? Yesterday marked the beginning of World WellBeing Week which gives us a chance to check in with our friends and family, and ourselves!

Not just physically, but mentally too. You can’t see inside of your head so it might not be as obvious when there is something wrong, but mental health is just as important as physical health! We use our brains every day and sometimes they need a little rest and care.

So yesterday, Brindley and I took the opportunity to start the week off on the right paw, and take part in some mind and body exercise! Mum was heading to the park for her weekly yoga session and we decided that this week we would join her. We grabbed our mats and stretchy pants and we were off!

For those of you who don’t know, yoga is an ancient type of exercise that uses different movements and breathing techniques to help improve your mental and physical well-being.

We followed the yoga instructor’s lead, slowly moving through the different poses… child’s pose, butterfly pose, cobra pose and – my personal favourite – downward dog! By the end I had started to feel a little sleepy and so, as a special treat, the instructor known as a dogi

(or is it yogi?) ended the session with a game of sleeping lions!

I laid so still, not even a real lion could have spotted me until suddenly I felt Brindley’s whiskers tickling my nose. I tried to ignore it but I couldn’t hold it in any longer… ACHOO!

Chip chip for now, your old friend Chipper.
