Some feminists are anti-trans as ‘biological males’ intrude

- Paul Cox Paul the other one

Buckle up because this is the most controversial topic of our time. The trans debate (literally) rages around the world today, a world that is divided by politics and the insatiable desire to progress.

Progress to where? No one knows. Essentially though until everyone thinks the same. I have friends who have transitioned.

Now, I appreciate this lurches into the territory of ‘I can’t be racist because I have black friends’. However, it is a way for me to illustrate that I have a fundamental grasp of the key issues and most importantly am empathic.

I do respect them, and I will use the pronouns they chose.

I am a man and was once a boy who grew up surrounded by women, lots of them. They were everywhere in my family. It’s a miracle the Cox family was able to procreate. I am an advocate for women. Not a male feminist, because that’s almost exclusively used by misogynists, as a distraction from their dastardly deeds.

Like with everything progressive, the debate has become agitated and often violent.

Take Posie Parker, the pseudonym for Killie-Jay Keen. She is a British anti-transgender rights activist and founder of the group Standing for Women. She describes herself as a woman's rights activist. She is not liked.

Her view is that the feminist movement has fought for decades to earn equality and safe space, and this is now being jeopardised by biological males infiltrating women’s spaces. The vast majority totally understand her, and a significant number of people agree with her.

The more I learn about this debate, the more I believe that in 100 years they will look back and view Posie Parker as a positive figure, not because of her antitrans position but because of her pro-women position.

She is after all a lone voice, like nearly all world changers. We are all very quiet on this subject, or we are if there’s not 100% agreement. There are things that make the trans debate incredibly important. We should discuss and better understand. But people are remaining silent on how women are being treated as a result.

The strength of opposition tells me something. It tells me that she's making a good point that some people don't want to be heard. Biology is important - if you don’t think so, you are lying to yourself.
