Fratton faithful pleased with refurbishment work at century-old stadium
Pompey fans have had their fair share of disruption in recent years as the club continues it refurbishment of Fratton Park.
But what are the fans’ thoughts on the redevelopment work that’s set to cost chairman Michael Eisner £12m by the time it’s completed in January 2024?
Well, we put the subject to our readers via our Big Pompey Survey.

Are you happy with the ongoing work at Fratton Park?
The clear answer to this question is yes, with 89.8 per cent of participants in favour of what has been undertaken. Only 10.2 per cent said they were unhappy.
Has the work carried out enhancedyourFrattonPark experience?
The vote was rather split when it came to supporters’ matchday experiences.
Some 53 per cent said they were enjoying their trips to Fratton Park more because of the redevelopment work – the most popular choice by a distance – 30.9 per cent said their experience hadn’t changed and 16.1 per cent ticked the ‘no’ option.
Is matchday food/drink at the stadium of a satisfactory quality and price?
It seems supporters are more than satisfied. Some 61.7 per cent agreed the food and drink was top notch, while 38.3 per cent begged to differ.
Are you for or against safe standing at Fratton Park?
Some 3,115 safe standing seats are currently being put into the Milton End, with 1,500 earmarked for the Fratton End. Some 86.3 per cent are in favour, with 13.7 per cent against.
Is the parking situation around Fratton Park sufficient?
Only 13.7 per cent of participants said there was enough parking around Fratton Park on matchdays. The rest – 86.3 per cent over three different answers – believe more needs to be made available.
How would you rate a typical matchday at Fratton Park out of 10?
We asked participants to rank their typical visit to Fratton Park out of 10. The top response – ‘7-9 out of 10’ – was backed by 63.8 per cent, with 4.6 per cent giving it 10/10, 28.7 per cent went for the ‘46 out of 10’ option and 3 per cent said ‘1-3 out of 10’.
