Penfold goal takes Albion into cup final

A Fred Penfold, pictured, goal was enough to see Coach and Horses Albion make it through to the final of the Buster Gordon Cup, writes Paul Oastler.

They defeated fellow City of Portsmouth Sunday League top flight outfit Cobden 1-0 at Sevenoaks.

In the London Cup, The Meon claimed a3-1 quarter final win over Fulcrum with goals from Sonny Tregarthen, Bradley Hayward and

Billy Musson. They will now face AC Copnor, a division below them, for a place in the final.

In the Adelaide Cup semi-finals, Bulldog defeated Soberton 6-2 with goals from Jake Clarke, Owen Heywood, Andrew Ivascu, Robbi Scott-wilson, Charlie Southcott and George Wearn.

Creech Wood’s win over Fratton Trades was tighter with Charlie Merritt and Jake Burfoot scoring in a 2-0 triumph.

Bransbury Wanderers are still looking for their first points of the Division 3 season after crashing 110 to FFTP. Jamal Ahmed (3), Charlie Collins (2), Shaleh Ahmed (2), Jacob Winspear (2), Kalam Ali and Byron Stevens netted.

Prince of Wales drew level with leaders Cross Keys after beating Padnell 2-1 with goals from Luke Chalcraft and Ben Bishop.

Louis Jeff took his seasonal tally to 34 with a five-goal haul as Saturn Royale caned Manor House 13-1 in Division 4. Allan Shaw and Lee Owens added hat-tricks as Saturn moved to within two points of leaders FFC with two games in hand.

Freehouse moved to the top of Division 5 after a 6-1 win over Hatton Rovers with Robert Lucas, Barry Jeans, Andy Oliver, Stephen Harris, Alfie Fisher and Tom Gray on target.

ACFC increased their lead at the top of Division 6 to six points over Soberton with a 3-1 win over Fulcrum Reserves thanks to Alastair Cox (2) and Luke O’hare.
