Karen’s Diner on Tour is being investigat­ed by Trading Standards after “fake events” in Southsea saw queues of people left high and dry at a venue that had its good name “thrown under the bus”.

People were left scorned after the world’s rudest diner experience never materialis­ed last Saturday and Sunday at Drift Bar in Palmerston Road.

A council employee who works as a driver for disabled children was exposed for falsely using a Blue Badge while she went shopping at supermarke­t Iceland.

Pompey being crowned champions of League One is set to be honoured at a celebratio­n event. Portsmouth City Council leader Steve Pitt said the local authority and football club are working together to organise the ceremony.

Cllr Pitt said Pompey’s men’s and women’s teams winning their respective divisions is an excellent boost for the city.

The foreman of a jury which convicted a Portsmouth murderer for killing a mother-of-three said he would feel “completely let down” if murderer Victor Farrant is freed from jail.
