A victory appears in the Ayr for Kelpie Grey

-

Kelpie Grey has been in sparkling form at Musselburgh and, if he can transfer that to Ayr, he could take some beating in the Weddings At Western House Hotel Handicap.

A length-and-threequarter winner over a mile on his seasonal bow in April, Kelpie Grey ably dealt with a 5lb rise to make all over seven furlongs at the start of this month.

He looked decent value for the winning margin of two-and-a-quarter lengths, so the extra 6lb he carries now may not be enough to anchor him.

Kelpie Grey is trained by Jim Goldie who could also be on the scoresheet with Tafsir in the concluding Book Fitzdares Raceday On 22 May Handicap.

A return to a quicker surface can see Kingmont regain the winning thread in Beverley’s Clearanswer Call Centres Handicap.

Paul Midgley has won the last two runnings of the Annie Oxtoby Memorial Handicap and can take the first division this year with stable debutant Masterclass.

Herakles gives the Midgley team useful claims in the second division, but preference is for Declan Carroll’s Fortunate Star.

Notre Maison can impress in the Shania Twain Live In July Handicap at Chepstow.

Coniston Clouds can shine when stepped up to an extended three miles in a Handicap Chase at Southwell. SELECTIONS
